چکیده
CO2-Plume Geothermal (CPG) technologies are geothermal power systems that use geologically stored CO2 as the subsurface heat extraction fluid to generate renewable energy. CPG can support variable wind and solar energy by providing dispatchable power, while Flexible (CPG-F) facilities provide storage, or both simultaneously. We present first study investigating how plants CPG-F may operate part of a renewable-heavy electricity system integrating plant-level plant models with systems-level optimization models. North Dakota, USA case demonstrate potential expand resource base locations not typically considered for power. find optimal capacity solar-wind-CPG model be up 20 times greater than peak-demand. reduce this modeled just over 2 peak demand storage seasonal short-term timescales. The operational flexibility is further leveraged bypass ambient air temperature constraint storing at critical temperatures. Across all scenarios, tax on emissions, order hundreds dollars per tonne, required financially justify using natural-gas plants. Our findings suggest play valuable role in future systems, we propose few recommendations its integration potential.

Effects of Wind Power plants on Energy Price and Power Systems Reliability in Imperfect Competition Electricity Market
The benefits of wind power generation have led to an ever-increasing expansion of wind farms around the world. The low cost of production and the environmental benefits of wind farms are some of the main reasons for using wind energy. On the other hand, uncertainty costs in the production and control of the output of wind turbines are among the problems that are being encountered for electricit...

Wind and Solar Irradiance Gridded Data to Support Assessment of Renewable Energy Resources in Greece
Common practice suggests that the assessment of wind and solar energy resources is based on data obtained from existing weather stations operated by the national meteorological services and other public services. Usually, these stations are placed at populated locations (for example airports, ports, urban, rural and protected areas) to support weather analysis, forecasts and warnings, local wea...
متن کاملOptimal energy distribution and storage in a wind-based renewable electricity supply chain
Nowadays, utilization of renewable energies for satisfying electricity demand has received more interest, and renewable electricity generation has been growing in the world. This study addresses the operational planning of a renewable electricity supply chain over a multi-period planning horizon. The purpose of this study is to maximize total profit and to optimize the operational decisions rel...
متن کاملEconomic assessment of renewable power generation based on wind speed and solar radiation in urban regions
Economic evaluation of 12 MW grid-connected wind farms and PV power plants in two regions in Northern Cyprus for electricity generation was investigated. The wind speed, sunshine duration, and solar global radiation characteristics were analyzed using monthly data collected over 17 years (2000-2016) for Girne and nine years (2008-2016) for Lefkoşa, which were measured at various heights. The re...
